Large trees are part of living and working landscapes. But deadwood, damaged branches, structural defects and conflicts with buildings or infrastructure can sometimes require action.
Balanced Tree Care carries out practical arboricultural works to manage identified tree hazards and create safer spaces while retaining trees wherever reasonably possible.
Practical ways to reduce risk
Depending on the tree and the situation, management works may include:
Deadwood removal
Removal of damaged or failed branches
Canopy and end-weight reduction
Clearance pruning
Storm-damage works
Removal of hazardous tree sections
Complete tree removal where required
The goal is not to eliminate every possible risk associated with trees. It's to manage trees reasonably and proportionately to the environment they're growing in.
Retain where we can. Remove where we need to.
Removal isn't automatically the answer when a tree presents a concern.
Appropriate pruning or targeted tree work can sometimes address the immediate issue while allowing a mature tree to remain part of the landscape.
For trees with important habitat features, our ecological arboriculture experience also allows us to consider whether habitat can be retained while managing the identified hazard.
